TURBOMED SA, a leading force in the marine turbocharger industry, reaffirms its commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility through a noteworthy initiative.
In collaboration with the Mediterranean Company Environmental Protection (MEPP) and with the support of HELMEPA, it successfully organized an extensive underwater clean-up on March 2, 2024, at the Ilida fishing shelter, followed by an informative seminar.
During the action, teams of professional divers collected more than two tons of waste from the harbor’s bottom, highlighting the urgent need for action in favor of marine ecosystems. The initiative continued with the seminar held at the Ilida Cultural Center, where, under the coordination of Mr. Christos Soulis, General Secretary of Environment and Climate Change of New Democracy, distinguished speakers and experts in the field of environmental protection shared knowledge and experiences, aiming to enhance environmental awareness and promote collective action for the protection of the planet.
Mr. Ioannis Paraskevopoulos, Chairman and CEO of TURBOMED SA, emphasized the importance of incorporating environmental sustainability into business strategy, noting that “We cannot talk about development in our place without considering our coastal front.” Additionally, he highlighted the critical importance of the sea for Greece’s national and economic development, adding that “The sea has the power to lead Greece into a new era of development and prosperity.”
This initiative is part of a broader program of actions by TURBOMED SA to enhance sustainability and environmental protection. The company is committed to continuing its support and innovation in environmental initiatives, as well as promoting the active participation of both its employees and the wider community.
With unwavering faith in the power of collective effort, we look forward to a more sustainable future for the next generations. Together, we can make our world better by protecting the wealth and beauty of our seas and preserving the environment for future generations.
